Boosting Your 125cc Pit Bike’s Speed

There are a few options when boosting your 125cc pit bikes speed. You can install a bore up kit to increase your bikes performance and speed. Or you can install an air cleaner to slightly increase your horsepower. These are only some of the options you can choose to increase your bikes speed. Read through some tips on increasing your bikes speed and power.

1. Bring your bike to a custom bike shop and explain to them that you wish to increase the power and the speed of your bike. You’ll be opted to choose if you’ll be using your bike for racing or for stunts. Choose which one would best suit you. If you choose racing then they are going to install this bore up kit, change your carburetor to 150cc and install an air cleaner to increase your speed and power, either you’re racing on flat tracks, rough or graveled terrain or through man-made motocross obstacles. If ever you use your bike to pull off stunts and tricks then they will concentrate on upgrading your maneuverability and your engine power so you can easily move through those humps and bumps in the track.

2. You must not only condition your vehicle but also the rider. It is crucial that the racer spends several hundred hours in training and practice runs so that he may get a better feel of the bike. Increasing the racers performance will also increase the vehicles performance as it is the rider after all who is making the bike work. He must have a proper diet and proper exercise to increase his reflexes and strength to easily maneuver the bike through those rough obstacles. Make the racer practice on different possible surface tracks so by the time he enters a race he know exactly how to maneuver his way around certain tracks.

3. Consider the aerodynamics of your vehicle and your racer. The racer will be crouched down a bit more but the air flow will greatly increase around him. If he would ever prop-up then he would be like a sail and catch the wind making him move slower. You can also opt to install a booster fan for your carburetor, this work when you are revving up you speed, simply turn on the fan and you will get a speed increase of 20 kms./hr. Last option is to install Nitrous Oxide or Nos as it is called in the streets. This will surely increase your speed by 4 times but beware when you’re in high speed your maneuverability will greatly decrease thus causing accidents and great wrecks. These are only used for drag racing or head to head racing on a flat straight surface. It is not allowed to be used in competitions or tournaments. One other way to simply increase your speed is to properly time your gearing and changing your sprockets so your bike will have an increase in speed of about 30% and you are only spending less for this small upgrade.

You can determine if it requires an oil change or maybe an overhaul. To better maneuver and go faster with your bike train hard and practice a lot with the motorcycle so that you may know how to handle it when you are in the actual track.

Let Professional Mechanics Tinker With Your Pit Bike

There’s nothing like a professional mechanic to take a look at your motorcycle and advice you on the dos and donts of upgrading. He would know exactly what should be done to your vehicle so that it may go faster than it is supposed to be. Sure you can perform the tinkering, upgrading and modifying yourself but it is always best that you have in your speed dial the best professional mechanic to take advice from. Although if you wish to save money when upgrading or making your bike move fast you can do the upgrades and buy the motor parts yourself so as to choose the ones that best suit your bike and the ones that are inexpensive but durable. If you wish to save time from the hassles of upgrading and buying the required parts then you can take your dirt bike to an upgrade shop or custom shop and let the professionals handle your upgrades and modifications for you. The advantage with this move is that you save time and consultations from mechanics, however the major disadvantage is that you are unsure exactly what they have installed in your bike to make it go that fast. So to be safe always ask for the list of the parts that have been installed and verify if they are actually good or excellent parts.
