Mini Dirt Bike Riders

There are a couple of famous mini dirt bike rider out there today that dabble in these mini bike races. Most of these professional racers are also professional racers either in dirt bike racing, freestyle motocross racing or motorbike races. They have ventured into this sport to experience what it is like riding, racing and doing stunts off these miniature dirt bikes or motorbikes. Famous professionals like Jeremy McGrath and Carey Hart have also joined some of these mini dirt bike races.

Mostly these motocross or dirt bike professionals let their kids use these mini dirt bikes. Their kids are the ones who are interested in racing and free styling like their fathers. Thus mostly their kids are the ones doing the competing in these mini dirt bikes. These professionals encourage their kids so that they would also enjoy the sport that they loved. That as early as 7 years old these kids would already be professional dirt bikers who will become experts when they grow up or better yet become professional bikers like their fathers.

There are other professional riders today who have hung up their motocross racing gloves and switched to mini dirt bike racing. The main reason that they switched to this sport is that they’re looking for the next adrenaline rush and these mini bikes provide that rush for them. They would have to adjust their maneuvers to better ride these minis through the track. Like their normal sized counterparts these mini bikes also have freestyle stunts. But performing them may tend to be a tad difficult as they are smaller but an advantage to seasoned professionals because they are much lighter therefore they can perform stunts easily but they need to be careful with their landing or with their jump.

Some kids and young adults have also made their name in local professional mini dirt bike races. These are no ordinary kids, these are daredevil kids who aren’t afraid to perform stunts and to races through tough terrains in order to win. They are highly competitive that’s why they train for a long time before they do actual stunts or perhaps maneuver their bikes through tough hilly terrains. Some of these kids grow up to fully pursue their dreams of becoming a professional dirt bike rider.

Although most of these riders are kids they never forget that safety always comes first. And to always remember that these mini dirt bikes are strictly prohibited to be used on public streets and freeways. Like in other European countries where these mini dirt bikes are completely illegal to use anywhere outside their specially built track or circuit, this due to an accident that happened when a stepfather took his wife’s baby girl for a ride on a mini dirt bike and they had an accident which resulted in the death of the child. That is why laws have been passed dubbing these minis illegal for use anywhere but the tracks that are built for these bikes

These pit bikes are also being used to do stunts in movies. They are used to jump off cliffs and on motorbike chases. There are truly a lot of uses for this pit bikes. So here are some of its uses.

For Stunts and Tricks

The 125cc pit bikes that are used to pull off stunts with have already been customized. The riders have already harnessed the full performance of the bikes and added a few more for an increase in speed and power. They must tweak their bike so that they will acquire the appropriate speed and power to pull off some of their dangerous stunts. Their bike must also be lighter than when they first bought it, they must lose some of the unnecessary weight in their bike to make it lighter to pull off their stunts easily.

For Everyday Use

Motorbike enthusiasts prefer to use these 125cc pit bikes as their mode of transportation. They prefer this over a car because they prefer the freedom of an open space. They can easily maneuver through heavy traffic and they can save up on their gas bill. These enthusiasts use this as their everyday mode of transportation, from their home to their workplace and back. Always remember that in order for a person to ride legally in one of these vehicles they must abide by the proper safety protocols of riding a motor vehicle. In some countries these pit bikes are used as a tricycle for public transportation. There are some countries like the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and India that use these pit bikes as a tricycle that has a cab at the side that carries either people for public transport or goods for cargo transport. These bikes are very useful and they are fuel efficient so people can easily use them to build their carry tricycle.

Motorbike Challenge

This is a growing sport that involves using pit bike or motorbikes to climb up a steep hill that may be muddy or rocky. The rider that can successfully climb up these obstacles in the shortest time possible is declared as the winner. This is a very challenging sport; this is where accidents occur due to pushing a motorbike to its limits. Riders would have to harness the full power of their pit bike in order to compete in these challenges. There are several categories on the challenge and the steeper and more difficult the challenge the more higher the points and the prize are. So riders have to modify their bike to the fullest so that they can compete with their opponents on the different challenges.

New Laws Passed Against the Selling of Mini Dirt Bikes

A new law has been passed banning the sales of these mini dirt bikes. It has greatly affected motorcycle retailers for quite some time. The reason for the ban of selling these mini dirt bikes to kids is due to the lead content found in the metal parts of the bike. Retailers are ridiculed by this new law saying that it is relatively safe for children to use. The lead content can only be harmful if ingested or punctures the skin. But due to the strict implementation of these laws passed, motorbike dealers caught selling these mini dirt bikes to kids would be fined or jailed.

There are some mini dirt bike enthusiasts who do not believe that these minis are harmful to children. They eve bought some banned mini dirt bikes from motorbike dealers and let their children use it. They say that a law like this would greatly affect the sport of professional mini dirt bike racing, and it already has.

This new federal law has taken effect due to studies that some major and minor parts of these mini dirt bikes contain lead or lead traces that can be deemed harmful for children to use. Lead and lead traces were found in their paint, handle bars, their bike frame and some traces on their grip. These minis were categorized as toys that are used by children and that they might ingest or have cuts or skin punctures from the parts of these bikes that contain lead and it would be very harmful to their health. These bikes were mostly sold for $1000 to 3000 and some of these motorcycle dealers hit it big with huge sales of these dirt bikes. Now some 200+ dealers’ mini dirt bikes are in storage and are collecting dust because they don’t know what to do with the stocks that they have. They cannot even sell them due to the federal law that strictly prohibits the selling and purchase of these bikes.

If you already own these mini dirt bikes for your kids or for your own use its better to use them in private tracks and private properties. If ever you require a part for your mini bike whenever you purchase a certain part you must first sign a waiver saying that you intend to use the part for your own vehicle and not sell them to other people.
Some enthusiasts and professionals are protesting against this law saying that they have never before heard of a child being harmed by the lead content or lead poisoning from a mini dirt bike. Some even claim that the passing of this law is for keeping children safe from using these mini dirt bikes. Professional races however are very frustrated by this saying that this is a huge downfall of a relatively safe sport due to a poorly written law. Luckily there are some senators and state congressmen who are fighting to abolish the law.
